Changes to the DES Update Center

As of lastnight I've revamped the DES Update Center slightly to make allowances for some new ideas that are going to be instilled. Don't worry, it barely looks different and is still in the same place. Even so, I've changed it's name to something more of what it actually is. Officially we'll be calling it the ►D.E.S. Tracking Center, and it will more than likely start to encompass an even larger amount of functions and information, depending of course on the popularity of our DES Project with the community. the rest of this Journal will encompass the small details that have been changed, and how it will work.

You'll want to pay attention, because your status as a Squad member could be on the line.

Changes in Handling the Taskforce

I think it's imperative to begin this by saying that this is YOUR squad, and I'm only handling the complicated task of making Final decisions and doing the tedious work so that your life is stress-free. But in saying that, it's clear to me that your opinions matter. If you want to get together with me with an idea you have to do a certain something, don't hesitate to note me. I've already been working closely with a couple of the Squad members to create for us some new and exciting stuff---the DES Chat-room, for example.

So don't be bashful. Say what you think, and we'll work it out if it's doable.
Now on to the important stuff...

I'm sure you guys have all read by now that I've had to cap our Squad sign-ups to 50 due to the popularity of the DES project. Having had so many inquiries regarding what we do and how to become part of the Squad, we're going to have to start putting people on a waiting list. However, if no one leaves then no one new can come on---so quite simply I've got to have an organized method to make room for waiting deviants.
How to go about this is pretty much a no-brainer for me, what with being there was a handful of Squad members who (for whatever reason) couldn't contribute to our Premier issue. Needless to say: for as genuinely proud I am of you contributing members, I was somewhat disappointed that not everyone was able to get their finds in. We're a team, and I very seriously want the community to know without a doubt that the DES cares about what we're doing.
As to not contributing: I know how life can be. Sometimes you get busy or there's an emergency or what have you, and know that exceptions can always be made to keep you on. You just have to Note me. All I want to see is your regard and diligence for the community and what you're doing for it, and we'll do the whole forgive-and-forget thing, k?

I'm all about the fun, and I've intentionally left lots of room for everyone to slack! But understand that I do take the DES very seriously. I do because I care a great deal about getting new people seen in our Gallery.

Are you serious?!?!

Yes! Basically my goal is to weed out the lurkers, the extraordinarily lazy, and those who are plainly apathetic to our philanthropic goals. I want full-time, permanent people on the DES who are going to contribute 99.999% of the time. So as of now, having cleared our first article, I'll be keeping track of who contributes and who doesn't. This will happen using a Colored Bullet system before our names. I'll do them in sets of five, each bullet representing a completed article. When we reach the fifth bullet, we'll start over again back at one.

Squad Status Beacons

Probationary Status:
Green Bullets = Contributed to completed article. 5 of these in a row will upgrade your status to Blue.
Red Bullets = Did not contribute to completed article. 2 of these in a row and you will be asked to step down to allow someone on the waiting list to take your position.

Upgraded Status:
Blue Bullets = Awarded to those who successfully contribute to 5 articles in a row. I will make these Squad members into "Marshals", and award them with a new styled badge. As well, Marshals will always keep their blue bullets, and will no longer be held accountable for contributing or not. They are permanent members of the DES until they choose to step down or are dismissed by me for some other reason.

Founder Status:
Purple Bullet = Purple bullets indicate the special founder status. Basically it denotes whose in charge. It's unlikely to see anyone aside from myself with this bullet, but this could change under a very special circumstance.

Future Changes

Coming soon will be a required "Finds" format for you, to deliver your finds to me. As I was putting together our First issue, I realized how much time it was actually taking away from my other responsibilities. Not to worry, I'm always thinking of you and will make it super easy. Probably it will be an open text-box for you to copy from and paste into your note to me.

As well, for those of you who choose to work with me on anything outside of the DES Article, I'll assign you a new Rank slot on the Tracking Center and Chatroom to highlight your role on the squad.
